If you’re like me and struggle with finding the positive in your negative circumstances, then maybe we should stop searching for the perfect words! Sometimes just speaking the Living Word out loud can spark a spirit of praise within us when we don’t feel like worshiping.
Check out Psalm 145.
Psalm 145 gives us 22 reasons to praise God – all based on who God is and what he does for us. That’s almost as many reasons as verses in the chapter!
Listen to why the Psalmist says we should praise God even when we don’t feel like it:
- God is a personal God (vs. 1)
- God is the sovereign King (vs. 2)
- God is great (vs. 3)
- God is unsearchable (vs. 3)
- God acts on my behalf (vs. 4)
- God is majestic (vs. 5)
- God is good (vs. 6)
- God is righteous (vs. 7)
- God is gracious (vs. 8)
- God is full of compassion (vs. 8)
- God is slow toanger (vs. 8)
- God is merciful (vs. 8)
- God is powerful (vs. 10)
- God makes himself known to me (vs. 11)
- God helps me (vs. 14)
- God provides for me (vs. 15)
- God is generous (vs. 16)
- God is near to me (vs. 18)
- God listens to me (vs. 19)
- God saves me (vs. 19)
- God preserves me (vs. 20)
- God brings justice (vs. 21)
Maybe Ps. 145 should be subtitled – “Praises for the Tongue-Tied Worshipper.”
Especially considering that it was Jewish practice to recite this very psalm three times a day – twice in the morning and once in the evening![1]
Does life have you tongue-tied? Pick up David’s song of praise in Ps. 145 and make it your own. We have much to praise Him for! 22 reasons to be exact!
Imagine the impact on your heart if you recited this passage three times a day!
So, reclaim your voice of praise and downloading this free printable of Ps. 145! Stick in your Bible, on your mirror, or put in on your dashboard and praise God for who he is and what he’s done for you!
Encourage someone today by posting one reason you’ve found to praise Him!
