Read Along for Daughters of the King (ch 10) Let your Kingdom Story Shine {Hive Resources}

God’s story for the world ends the way it began.

Rev. 22:12-17 says,

12 “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”

14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. 15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.

16 “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”

17 And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.

All the themes of the kingdom in the biblical story find their end in this passage.

God’s People: God’s covenant with man is made possible through his eternal Son (Rev. 22:12), who is the son of David as fulfilled by prophecy (Rev. 22:16).

God’s Place: God’s covenant with man finds it location in his eternal Son (Rev. 22:13). And until Christ comes again, we live with a foretaste of our eternal home with the indwelling of the Spirit (Rev. 22:17a).

God’s Rule and Blessing: God’s covenant with man reaps blessings of eternal life if we submit ourselves to the Son’s rule (Rev. 22:14, 17b). And those who choose to remain outside of the kingdom will reap the natural consequences of sin (Rev. 22:15).

The Bible is the most important story we will ever hear. It is also the most lovely and life-changing story ever written.

Without, it, we would never understand our distinctive purpose or exceptional worth as the King’s daughters.

Without it, we would never see the precious meaning behind our current circumstances.

Without it, we would never know that a good King created a good world, and although it was corrupted by sin, he is at work to completely restore it through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Revelation 22 Your Kingdom Story {Hive Resources}

I hope this study has helped you discover where you are located on the biblical timeline and your place in God’s story for the world.

God has a mighty plan for you. You are his chosen and cherished bride, whom he has tasked with the great responsibility to be a light to the nations.

As a Daughter of the King, you are a priest, co-heir, and co-ruler of the King’s kingdom. All these titles are based on the forever faithfulness of our forever King who is sitting on a forever throne.

This Christmas season, I pray you are overcome with the news that our good King left the glories of his throne to suffer in your place so that you might one day rule with him and rest in him.

This Christmas, let your kingdom story shine! What are you doing to celebrate the advent of our Lord and King Jesus Christ?

    Love it that you said “rule and rest” with Him, Melissa. I think about reigning, but not about resting. That’s a sweet promise I am going to hold on to! 🙂

    I am considering using your book, Daughters of the King, for a ladies study this spring. I have really enjoyed your read-alongs for the chapters but I can only find some of them. I am missing your posts for chapters 3, 4, 5, and 6. Is there somewhere that I can get these four missing posts? Thanks for your assistance in locating these.
